Samuel Harowitz currently serves as the Vice President of Acquisitions and Co-Productions – North America for FremantleMedia International (FMI). In this role, Harowitz is responsible for sourcing, vetting and acquiring intellectual property, programming and co-production opportunities for development and international distribution.
Harowitz is responsible for forging strategic alliances and maintaining partnerships with producers, broadcasters and digital platforms in the U.S. and Canada. He is also focused on partnering closely with FremantleMedia North America’s , Original Productions, Eureka Entertainment, Tent City and 495 Productions programming teams to identify and acquire new television content for development. Harowitz also manages the acquisition of scripted and non-scripted content from third party producers as well as managers the flow of internal programming to FMI in order to achieve successful distribution models and build the FMI program catalogue.
Prior to his current role, Sam held the positions of Manager of Acquisitions and Development and then Director of Acquisitions and Development for FremantleMedia International, where he worked across a number of international titles including The Returned(A+E),Eye Candy(MTV),Battleground(Hulu),Full Circle(Directv),Blue(Hulu),Monday Mornings(TNT) and Billy & Bille(Directv).
Before joining FMI, Harowitz was the Coordinator of U.S. Scripted Television at Entertainment One, where he worked on such shows as The Firm(NBC), Hell On Wheels(AMC),Saving Hope(NBC)Rookie Blue(ABC),Call Me Fitz(DirecTV), and Haven(Syfy).
