The Netflix exec and global football icon to share insights on storytelling, strategy, and cultural impact.
Two powerhouse figures, Netflix’s Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria and football legend turned media mogul David Beckham, will share the spotlight at the inaugural MIP LONDON content and networking market. Their highly anticipated fireside conversation will take place at the IET Savoy Place on Tuesday, 25 February 2025.
The duo, collaborators on Netflix’s Emmy-winning docuseries BECKHAM, will delve into their creative partnership and provide insights into content creation, audience connection, and the intersection of sports and storytelling. Studio 99, co-founded by Beckham, is already making waves with a forthcoming series exploring the rise of Victoria Beckham’s fashion empire.
Lucy Smith, Director of MIP LONDON and MIPCOM CANNES, stated:"Bela and David are monumental figures with global impact. Their unique perspectives and combined cultural reach promise a memorable moment at MIP LONDON."
Bela Bajaria: Content Visionary
Since joining Netflix in 2016 and ascending to Chief Content Officer in 2023, Bajaria has spearheaded an impressive slate of global hits such as Stranger Things, Bridgerton, Squid Game, and All Quiet on the Western Front. With a strategic eye on diversification, she has pushed Netflix into live events and sports programming, including the multiyear partnerships with the NFL and WWE. Recognised by TIME as one of the 100 Most Influential People of 2022, Bajaria’s resume cements her as a trailblazer in the entertainment industry.
David Beckham: Sports Icon to Media Mogul
Beckham’s illustrious football career, spanning Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain, has been matched by his ventures off the pitch. His Studio 99 production house has delivered compelling projects like 99, a documentary on Manchester United’s iconic treble-winning season, and Ronnie O'Sullivan: The Edge of Everything. Studio 99 blends Beckham’s brand power with premium storytelling, making him a significant figure in the global content space.
