Tech Titans Lead the Charge at Web Summit Qatar 2025

Alexis Ohanian, Eduardo Saverin, and Laura Chambers Lead Doha’s Tech Revolution

Web Summit Qatar returns this February, drawing global attention to Doha’s growing prominence in the tech world. Leading the roster of speakers are some of the most influential names in technology and venture capital: Alexis Ohanian, Eduardo Saverin, and Laura Chambers.

The event, running February 23–26 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC), promises over 15,000 attendees and a packed agenda exploring the future of innovation in the Middle East and beyond.

Meet the Headline Speakers

Alexis Ohanian: From co-founding Reddit, a platform that reshaped how online communities thrive, to launching Seven Seven Six, a venture capital firm with a modern, tech-driven approach, Ohanian is no stranger to building impactful companies. His portfolio includes Angel City Football Club, Riverside, and Stoke Space, showcasing his knack for backing visionary ideas. At Web Summit Qatar, he’ll delve into the evolving role of venture capital in fostering inclusive, founder-first innovation.

Eduardo Saverin: Best known as a co-founder of Facebook, Saverin now leads B Capital, a global venture firm focused on transformative investments in technology, healthcare, and sustainability. At the summit, he’ll explore how regions like the GCC can harness untapped potential in deep tech and become leaders in cutting-edge advancements. Saverin’s perspective bridges the worlds of global tech dominance and regional innovation, making his insights especially relevant to Qatar’s burgeoning ecosystem.

Laura Chambers: As CEO of Mozilla Corporation, Chambers oversees a company synonymous with championing an open, transparent internet. Under her leadership, Mozilla has tackled issues like AI ethics and privacy-preserving technologies. Chambers’ talk will focus on how these principles can guide the next wave of tech development, balancing innovation with responsibility.

Spotlight on a Growing Ecosystem

Web Summit Qatar 2025 builds on the success of its inaugural event last year, which placed the Middle East firmly on the global tech map. Local and global perspectives will converge as the conference highlights not only international leaders but also startups and innovators from the region.

This year’s broader speaker lineup includes Almar Latour, CEO of Dow Jones; Sara Sabry, founder of the Deep Space Initiative; and Yassine Saidi, Chief Product Officer at Under Armour.

Doha at the Forefront

Ahead of February, the “Runway to Web Summit” in December set the stage by spotlighting local innovators like SkipCash and Kafy, showcasing how Qatar’s startups are contributing to a broader global conversation.
